Alexandra Ferguson
Alexandra graduated from the City University of New York Law School in 1994 and has extensive experience in the area of special education law. From 1992 through 1995 she worked at Advocates For Children, Inc. (AFC) representing parents of children with disabilities. She later joined the Office of Legal Counsel of the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) practicing again in the area of special education law and working with high-level administrators regarding compliance with Federal and State disability laws and regulations. In 2000, Alexandra held the position of Director and Clinic Professor of the Special Education Law Clinic at Rutgers Law School teaching a law class on Special Education Law as well as supervising law students in the Newark, New Jersey area. In 2006 Alexandra joined the Law Offices of Susan Deedy representing parents of children with disabilities against the NYCDOE and Nassau County school districts. Alexandra is a member of the Bar Associations in New York and New Jersey. She is also a certified teacher with several years experience in both private and public schools in New York and New Jersey. Alexandra is a current member of the Autism Action Network. She lives with her husband in Boulder, CO and has two children.
